It’s been a bad, bad year to be a sports fan in Seattle. But I thought this quote from Big Lo put it in perspective:

“I could be depressed, but I live in the most beautiful city in the world,” Big Lo says, rooting on his city as vigorously as its teams. “We do have the bluest skies you’ll ever see. We’re an hour’s drive from the mountains. We’re an hour and 45 minutes from the ocean. We’re an hour and a half from one of the world’s most beautiful mountains. And if you need a really good cup of coffee, we’ve got it. Just don’t make it Starbucks.”

I just hope next year is better.

For a little while the Trail Log had gone AWOL and I hadn’t really been updating it. The original intent was to have it be a place where I could post trip reports and other outdoorsy stuff and with my travel schedule lately I haven’t been out much. And on those few times when I was out I didn’t really have energy or time to come back and write a trip report.

So I’m expanding the Trail Log a bit. As the tagline notes, this is just going to be a journal of my random personal stuff. I decided I needed a blogging outlet that doesn’t have (much) to do with technology and rich Internet applications. So this is it. Beer, Hiking, Tea, and all of the other random stuff I’m into along with photos and videos that I take on my travels.
